The more accurately the edges are processed, the more elegant the product looks. Read the step-by-step description of how to sew the corner with an “envelope”.

Processing the corner with an "envelope" is used in the slots and cuts of skirts, dresses, jackets, raincoats, coats, sleeves, etc.

Mark the width of the allowances at the cut (slots) and the hem of the bottom.

Iron the cut allowance and hem the hem on the wrong side of the fabric.

On the edge hem, mark the edge of the bottom allowance.

On the bottom hem, mark the edge of the cut allowance.

Expand allowances, transfer the marking from the face of the fabric to the wrong side with notches or in another way.

On the wrong side of the fabric, connect the labels with a straight line. The line must go through the point of intersection of the hem!

Fold the corner face inwards, combining the markup.

Start corner by marking.

Cut allowances, leaving 5-7 mm to the stitch.

Carve a corner at the end of the seam.

Iron the allowances in the corner.

Turn out and iron a corner. Done!

If the allowances are different in width, then repeat all operations.

In this case, the angle when aligning the markings lies unevenly, that is, only the notches and the line are combined, and not the allowances!
