The first Elspeth Maclean Mandala stones appeared in 2013. By this time, Elspeth was already a professional artist and art therapist, traveled and painted a lot, including mandalas. She recalls: “The story of my mandala stones began on a beach in New Zealand. Then I took along with me a few of my small mandala pictures to photograph them against the backdrop of ocean stones. Suddenly I noticed a few pebbles - they were completely round "I had an idea that intrigued me: the mini-mandalas that I held in my hands and the round pebbles on the shore merged in my mind and inspired me to create something new. And this idea was born." Several weeks passed when Elspeth finally brought her plan to life and painted the first batch of mandala stones. She posted the photos on her Facebook page, and the next morning she discovered that she had looked at the pictures more than 30,000 times per night.“My art has become viral,” Elspeth admits. She continued to work with stones. After 2 years, in 2015, after one of the online publications, the popularity of her mandala stones became even greater. Now Elspeth paints both large stones that can become an interior decoration, and small ones, making jewelry from them, for example, pendants.
