Complemented by a line dividing the circle into sectors, this velvet pillow looks not only luxurious, but also unusual.

Velvet with its magnificent texture and soft pearl sheen is one of the most luxurious materials. A decorative pillow made of it by itself will be good, and supplemented with lines emphasizing the texture of velvet, it also becomes interesting, as if embossed. For such a project, it is better to choose the threads exactly in the color of velvet.

You will need:

- velvet flap (the size depends on the size of the pillow you need, here for a pillow with a diameter of 42 cm a flap of about 100x50 cm is taken);

- threads in velvet color;

- something round the right size to use as a template (or paper, compasses and paper scissors to make a template);

- marker for tissue;

- ruler;

- scissors for fabric;

- tailor pins;

- synthetic winterizer or holofiber for stuffing;

- needle for hand sewing;

- sewing machine.

Step 1

Fold the flap in half inside out and use the template to draw a round part. Chip off the layers of fabric with pins and cut out two parts at once.

Step 2

From the inside of one of the two parts, you need to draw lines along which decorative lines will be laid. Find the center of the circle - all lines will pass through this point. Draw the first line by dividing the circle in half.Draw the second line perpendicular to the first. The third and fourth - so that they divide the resulting sectors in half. Add 4 more lines to get 16 identical sectors.

Step 3

Sew lines along the drawn lines. Sew from the wrong side. When you turn the part over, you will see how the lines formed a beautiful texture.

Step 4

Fold the parts with the sides inward and pin them together. Lay the stitch backward from the edge of 1 cm. Leave a hole for inverting about 7 cm wide.

Step 5

Fill the pillow with filler and sew the hole manually with a blind seam.

Step 6

Pass the double thread into the needle, do not tie a knot. Find the center of the pillow on the side where there are no lines. Insert the needle at this point and withdraw on the front side, where the lines intersect. Then insert the needle into the center from the front and pull it out in the center from the back. Pull the two ends of the thread, pulling off the pillow, tie the threads into a strong knot and cut the ends.

Done.
